Have you ever dreamt about the Grammy Awarding winning pop vocalist Celine Dion? If you have then there is a website out there that has been getting a lot of attention lately. From MTV, to the Rolling Stones and even The New York Times have been mentioning and recognizing this website and it's unique purpose. If you think you knew everything about Celine Dion, then hold on, there may be just one thing you didn't know. Her dreams. Let's talk with Yuri, the founder and webmaster of Celinedreams.com

coVE: Celine Dreams.com is about the dreams of the famous Grammy award winner, Celine Dion, and mainly about the fans who have dreamt about the singer. How did you came up with this idea for a website?

Yuri: I’m a fan of Celine Dion. Like many other fans I wanted to meet my favourite celebrity or at least to let her know I exist. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, so I decided to come up with something completely original no one ever did hoping it would make me stand out. I figured it was going to be a web site about dreams.

There are hundreds of fan sites dedicated to Celine and only celinedreams.com is dealing with dreams of the diva herself. My web site is a true forum of fans dreaming about Celine Dion. The web site went online in June 2001 and almost from the very beginning was a hit. Now it has been mentioned in all major media outlets e.g. twice in the New York Times. Moreover, celinedion.com, the artist’s official web site now links to my web site. However, (I)’m still waiting to meet Celine in person. I’d love to sit down and chat with her about many things, dreams included.

coVE: Fans who have dreamt about Celine Dion: their dreams are interpreted too. How difficult is it?

Yuri: It’s not difficult, but I’m not a psychoanalyst, so my interpretations are not professional. I’m using common sense to interpret fan dreams. I’m using this opportunity to tell people that their dreams involving Celine Dion is first of all about themselves, not about Celine.

coVE: Have you received dreams about another artist or something unrelated?

Yuri: Sure. Madonna. That’s why I started madonnadreams.com. It’s a web site that compiles and analyzes dreams of
Madonna and her fans. I suppose I could start a franchise now with this concept. (Laughing). Now seriously, the interaction between celebrities and fans is an intriguing subject for me.

coVE: How rewarding is this website? I'm sure that many people are inspired by just reading the dreams of other fans and they way the dream was interpret. The interpretation is truly extraordinary. Many fan's would say "I can relate to that. I had a similar dream to this". How rewarding is it, when knowing that you may have possibly inspired someone with the interpretation.

Yuri: I don’t know if I inspired anyone, but it’s true that I try to give a positive spin to the interpretations. I know for a fact that Celine Dion doesn’t like fans who spend their entire lives doing nothing, but venerating their favourite celebrities. In my interpretations I try to deliver the same message. Celine Dion in people’s dreams is a mere symbol. How
we interact with a well-known person in a dream speaks on how we feel about our own status.

coVE: A few of the fan's dreams are somewhat sad or have a bit of sadness to them. If I can quote, in one of the
dreams, #66 in the archives, this fan dreamt about meeting Celine and to show her their demo tape. Unfortunately she was unable to do so and she woke up in tears. The interpretation, which I found was truly fantastic, was "(the dream) is about your own fear of missing the right opportunity". You give little advice to the dreams too "Believe in your self". Do you try as much to do so? Give advice?

Yuri: I try to stay away from giving specific advice. It’s not right, because I don’t know the person I’m addressing to. “Believe in yourself” is more of a piece of common sense which I take the liberty to remind. I’d like to be perceived as a listener. That’s what I basically do. I listen to what folks have to say.

coVE: It's amazing when someone can remember their dreams. Isn't it? Most of the time, what I dream. I can't remember what the dream was about in the morning. How many dreams have you had about Celine Dion that you
can remembered?

Yuri: If someone doesn’t remember his dreams, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t dream. I believe that there are
special exercises on how to remember ones dreams. I normally remember my dreams. Those involving Celine
Dion are boringly similar. In my dreams I always meet her and we chat for hours. For now it’s been nothing but wishful thinking. However, I’m sure with a little bit of patience my dreams will come true. Plus, making celinedreams.com has been so much fun, so the wait is definitely worth it.

coVE: Yuri, I would like to say thank you for your time. Celinedreams.com is truly a must-visit site. I know that it has been recognized in the media lately, that's how I came across it a few weeks ago. Good luck and keep up with the good work.

Yuri: Thank you and dream on!
