Cove’s placement
On the Editor’s List for August 2008 the Pop chart’s eighth place went to “Echo” by The Bridges, credited to the album Limits of the Sky. The neighbours on that list were not small names. Mick Hucknall held No. 1, and Alanis Morissette, N.E.R.D. and Jewel filled most of the rest. Of the six acts on it, two had first albums out that summer, per MusicBrainz: The Bridges and Ace Young. Cove said only this about how the list was made: Songs are rated by the Editors of Cove Magazine. This list is by no means world wide, since albums selected are normally released only in North America.
“The Bridges” is a common band name, and MusicBrainz gives this one no origin. The match rests on the album: the MusicBrainz group of that name has Limits of the Sky, and its track listing includes “Echo” at No. 8.

Two release groups. Wikipedia gives 10 June 2008 as the release date of the debut, the same date MusicBrainz records. The earliest release carries Verve Music Group, and another carries Verve Forecast. Verve Forecast is the imprint MusicBrainz also shows on Lizz Wright’s The Orchard that year. Cove had her on its lists in 2008 as well, which says more about where the magazine’s editors were listening than about either act.

The band and what followed
Wikipedia describes the group as a folk-rock band formed in Oxford, Alabama in 2005. Its five members are cousins and siblings, with Brittany Painter on lead vocals. MusicBrainz records one further release, Our Monster - EP, dated 15 December 2010, with no label listed. After that neither source records anything new. Whether the band continued in another form is not published in either.
Cove’s Pop list was mostly established names, so a debut band holding a place on it is the kind of call the Editor’s List existed to make. Other debut-era acts the same edition picked: Black Kids on the Alternative list and Above the Golden State on the Christian list.
